Sharing when there are left overs - Thursday and Friday, Week 8

When we divide, we need to share so it's fair. Sometimes, however, our number cannot be shared equally and there are some left over. Watch the video of Miss Rubino below demonstrating what to do when this happens.

Your Activity:

  1. Collect the number of household items as indicated on your work pack.


  1. Roll a 12-sided virtual dice to see how many groups you will need to divide by. 


  1. Divide your objects by the number you rolled. Remember, you may not be able to share it equally.


  1. Use the activity sheet below and draw how you have shared your objects (refer to the video above for an explanation). 


  1. Repeat 4 times (each time rolling your virtual dice again to determine a new number of groups).
